Peter J. Hood

Peter J. Hood’s practice is concentrated on property insurance coverage analysis, including business interruption claims. He has significant expertise in Commercial Property, Homeowner’s Property, Builder’s Risk, Equipment Breakdown and Crime Coverage.

Peter worked in the insurance industry for nearly 30 years before entering into the practice of law. During his years in the insurance industry, Peter served in various capacities including boiler and machinery specialist, general adjuster, executive general adjuster, claim manager, catastrophe management and planning and claim vice president.

As a lawyer, his practice encompasses property coverage issues, fraud and subrogation. All told, Peter has more than 40 years of experience focused on property insurance claim matters of all types. He has guided his clients through numerous complex claims and coverage decisions, therein saving his clients millions of dollars while ensuring their policyholders are properly compensated for their losses under their policies. He has frequently presented at insurance industry and bar association conferences on insurance related matters. Peter has personally testified more than 35 times primarily as a coverage or bad faith expert. He has also served on numerous insurance industry and charitable organization boards.
